Frequently Asked Questions.

What is EMDR?

(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach that helps people heal from the emotional distress caused by difficult or traumatic experiences. It works by using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help the brain process and “unstick” memories, so they feel less overwhelming and more manageable. Many people find EMDR helps them feel relief faster than traditional talk therapy.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long but I offer 75 minute sessions in case having a bit more time feels better for you. Most people start with weekly or biweekly sessions, but we’ll figure out a rhythm that feels right for you based on your needs, goals, and schedule.

How much does therapy cost & how to pay?

A 50-minute session is $150. I don’t currently offer direct billing, but I provide detailed receipts that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. It’s a good idea to check with your plan to see what’s covered. Payment can be done via e-transfer before/after session or by credit card.

What's your cancellation policy?

Please provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full session rate of $150.
