Daria Szwedowicz

I started my career in mental health back in 2017 providing outreach, harm reduction, and health advocacy to people living in inner city Edmonton who were dealing with addiction, inter-generational trauma, and marginalization. I support a diverse range of people including 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, university students, working professionals, parents, and couples.

I'm all about diving into the world of connections and relationships. How I see the world and how I approach therapy are both shaped by the idea that connection is the bedrock of well-being. Whether you're connecting with yourself, your friends, your family, your partner(s), or with me as your therapist, these dynamics can bring up challenges but also be a place for healing.

Therapy with me is a team effort that starts with a conversation about your life story to help me understand where you've come from and where you're at now. We are in this together, working side by side to identify goals and work towards them. Your experiences are the compass and i'm here to be your co-pilot, guiding you towards change. I'll provide a safe space for you to explore yourself, take risks, and cope with life's challenges.

My practice is integrative, meaning I pull from various theories and modalities to help me understand what's happening for my clients and how to work with them.

I am a first generation Canadian, born in Edmonton to immigrant parents from Poland and have a deep understanding of how our family histories and cultures inform our identities. I also identify as neurodivergent, which in my case means I am really passionate about pursuing trainings to develop my skills as a therapist, and love working with a wide variety of people, but i'm not so passionate about admin.
